ANNUAL DRUM CIRCLE FACILITATORS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

This weekend I'm making my third pilgrimage to the Annual Drum Circle Facilitators International Conference.  This year's conference is again held at the beautiful Ocean Creek Resort (www.oceancreek.com) in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  In fact, it's such a great location that so far three out of five of these conferences have been held there.  The event is hosted by the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild.

The Drum Circle Facilitators Guild is a professional membership organization for drum circle facilitators. Founded in 2001 in Washington DC, the DCFG was established by a group of professional facilitators as a 501c(3) non-profit organization. This growing organization includes members from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, India and Japan. Guild members abide by a code of ethics and are dedicated to serving communities through high-quality rhythm based events. As a professional association, DCFG supports its members through education, marketing, and accreditation. For more information visit www.dcfg.net.

This event isn't about business networking - you're unlikely to sell a rhythm event to another drum circle facilitator - but rather about connecting with like-minded people.  I wind up hugging gobs of people who feel like long-lost friends and family.  These are the cream-of-the-crop; truly the world's best drum circle leaders.  Each time I attend I come away chocked full of great new information about the innovative ways these amazing people are integrating exciting new rhythmic activities into their work.  My pal and mentor, the grand poobah Arthur Hull (www.drumcircle.com) will be offering advanced facilitation challenges to help polish skills used in conducting those percussive orchestras more commonly known as community drum circles.   It's also where I first met Jana Broder (www.drummagic.net), who I consider to be the finest business coach in this field as well as a good friend and mentor.

I come from these conferences enriched, enlivened, and educated - Rip-roaring and ready to bring YOU the best in drum circle facilitation.  If you don't already have a drum circle on your calendar for March, we should talk.... there's going to be some seriously awesome stuff in my bag of tricks come Monday!
