NEW CLASSES FOR SEPTEMBER!  Starting on September 1st, I'll be kicking off two new classes on Thursdays: first there's Beginning Beginner's Hand Drumming at 6pm;  a four week series for $60.  This will be followed by a Caribbean Rhythms class at 7:30;  a six week series for $90.  Classes will be held at the G-Spot:  404 Gorman St, Unit 336, corner of Hillsborough & Gorman Streets near Meredith College.  A 10% early-bird discount applies.  Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. On Tuesday, September 7th at 7pm, join Drum For Change for a FREE clinic sponsored by Ten Thousand Villages.  Contact the store to register:  919-821-1100.  Huge thanks to Ziggy Johnson for bringing drumming to the store!  I led drum circles there for three years and I'm so excited to be Drumming in the Village again!

During the third weekend of September there will be a lot of drumming happening as part of SparkCon. Each night there's live music for the CircusSpark performance.  You won't want to miss the Fire Conclave at the corner of Fayetteville and Martin Streets!  Top it off supporting a charity run on Sunday as we drum for the Magnificent Mile Race.

RDC's Birthday Bash at Lake Johnson Park

September is a very special month, too.  I founded the Raleigh Drum Circle this month back in 2002.  We'll be celebrating with our 9th Annual Birthday Bash at Lake Johnson Park on Monday, September 19th from 6-10pm.  Kick it off with a potluck dinner, enjoy a great showcase of local percussion-based performers, and top it off with an after-dark drum jam!  $5/person or $10/family, including a raffle ticket for some great door prizes!

I'll be winding the month out at Louisburg College, drumming with students as part of their International Day of Peace events, in another week-long residency with Oak Grove Elementary School, and with several sessions on Sunday at Raleigh's International Festival!
