Drumming and Rhythm Services
Group drumming is a great metaphor for cooperation, collaboration, and communication. In the Village Metaphor, every employee has an equally important contribution to make to the success of your organization. Drumming together levels the playing field and allows employees to interact in a a whole new way that creates bonding through this fun, exciting, energizing-yet-grounding newly-shared experience of making music together! Rhythm Events are tailored to suit your business and it’s challenges.
I offer educational and interactive programs for schools, churches, and camps. These might include cultural education, musical demonstrations, hands-on experiential learning or combinations of each. Teachers and students take a journey to explore different cultures, music, and instruments from around the world. You and your kids will enjoy both listening to and playing rhythms using ethnically diverse percussive instruments, found-sound or student-made instruments, and body percussion. The programming combines music with social studies, math, art, and language arts and is designed to support classroom teachers in integrating music, music-making activities, and cultural ideas that align with state and national education standards. Classroom residencies, international festivals, and assemblies are great ways to share this experience.
Remo's HealthRHYTHMS Division is on the forefront of establishing a solid foundation for proving the biological benefits of drumming. Neurologist Barry Bittman, M.D. developed this protocol that is clinically proven to improve health and wellness for participants. The program is applicable in many venues to include schools, hospitals, senior centers, corrections facilities, and therapeutic environments. Reduce employee burnout and turnover. Appropriate for clinical settings and support groups. Great for team building and communication. Click the link above to learn more about this exciting program!
Drum circles make special events truly unique. They can be tailored to suit your organization, school, or community. Diversity workshops, international fairs, arts festivals, family reunions and grief camps are some examples. Traditionally-inspired percussion performances can spice things up! This might include live drumming for yoga, dance, or hoop classes, along with educational concerts. Performances are great to liven things up and work well in venues ranging from coffee shops to senior centers.
Also known as an Attunement Circle or even Rhythm Church, this is a spiritual (but not religious) drum circle using combinations of small percussion, frame drums, chimes, gongs, flutes, didgeridoo, and singing bowls as a means of reaching heightened energy, sharing specific intent, and creating a collective consciousness. Promoting peace and unity, facilitating healing, and increasing positive vibrational energy are some of the benefits.
I offer both private and small group Basic Hand Drum Lessons in the West African and Afro-Caribbean traditions on djembe and conga drums. Imagine how a group drum lesson could add a cultural and educational component to your special event!
