Drum for Change with Greg Whitt

Welcome to Drum for Change!
Our hearts beat in rhythm, we breathe in rhythm, we walk in rhythm. Everyone has rhythm, but not everyone remembers how to outwardly express it! Modern society has conditioned us to listen to the radio, buy cd’s, and go to concerts rather than make music of our own. Drumming can free the rhythm!
Drum for Change in Raleigh, NC is dedicated to using the universal language of percussive music for creative self-expression. In doing so, I encourage cultural awareness, embrace diversity, and promote harmony through rhythm.
My goal is to promote communication and active engagement among all participants regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation, to help foster a sense of community, to promote health and well-being, and to encourage positive interpersonal interaction.

Fall into the Rhythm!

The back-to-school season has started with a bang! In the very first week of August I drummed with over 300 people. So many cool things are on my calendar that I can't wait to get to them all!
The BeatBoxx

Many people wonder how I've collected and carry so many drums to their schools, businesses, festivals, and parties. I've been drumming since 2002 and in those years have accumulated quite a collection of instruments - from big Afro-Cuban conga drums to West African djembes to Middle Eastern doumbeks to the universal frame drum. Plus I have bunches and bunches of shakers, bells, boom whackers, and other percussion toys.
