Cycles of Life

The Cycles of MY Life

There’s a certain mystique about motorcycles. For those who don’t ride, there’s danger. For those who do, there is freedom. Both are valid points of view. I wrote a bit about that a year or so ago; you can read about it here.

This photo spans the years; MY years. I got the yellow one when I was about ten years old. The red one came about ten years later. The white one showed up nearly ten years after that. It was another twenty years before I got the blue one. That’s something like forty total years of motorcycle mindset: to keep the rubber side down and remain alert while trying to enjoy the ride....

Oddly, these cycles represent the cycles of my life. Starting off young, small, and vibrant as a child with a minibike. Later I was powerful and fast and daring as a young adult on a sport bike. Then I was steady and strong once seasoned and matured on a cruiser. More recently I’m going for colorful, reliable, and slowing down in the middle years with a scooter. Perhaps these represent the cycles of your life, too?
