There’s an old proverb that says “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”  Here at D4C, we did it anyway!

The proverb dates back to 1604;  to Cervantes in his novel about Don Quixote.  The book is also the origin of the term quixotic, meaning ‘striving for visionary ideals’.  We do that here, too.

Our vision is to foster a culture of connection and creativity that unifies and empowers people, one that promotes positivity and mutual flourishing, and that reinforces values of wellness and interbeing.  That’s a lot of words that simply mean we help people feel good and play nicely together!

Take this basket, for example, as a great metaphor.  The eggs are of different origin, color, and orientation, yet they are nestled comfortably together.  They’re all different, but all basically the same, too.  They gently support one another because the reality is they’re all in it together.  Each is capable of contributing, of playing some part in the song.  Each is simply finding a way to comfortably fit into the grander scheme of things.

Really, we are all just figuring out how to fit in:  into the hole, the whole, the wholeness, the whol-e-ness, the holiness of life....
